At our Marine Research Laboratory, fish and shrimp are reared in an environment similar to an aquaculture site. Our feed used is developed with growth and health as the top priority.
In addition, to effectively use limited resources, we are investigating the availability of various raw materials from around the world and developing feeds that will contribute to realizing a sustainable aquaculture industry.

Shrimp feed

We are engaged in researching and developing vannamei shrimp and other shrimp feeds with a focus on KURUMA shrimp feed. Especially in the case of KURUMA shrimp feed, we pay close attention to feed quality and raw material selection by combining data accumulated through years of research with the latest advanced analytical technology. We are also working to develop unprecedented feeds using new ingredients to replace squid, krill, and fishmeal, the main ingredients in shrimp feed today.

Fish feed

In addition to monitoring and improving the quality of fish feeds, we are developing low/no fishmeal feeds to reduce the dependency on natural resources. Furthermore, since excess phosphorus and nitrogen in feed can degrade the water quality environment and cause diseases and red tides, we are also developing environmentally friendly and economical feeds that reduce excess ingredients in feed that fish cannot take in.

Aquaculture technology development

We have established a technology to consistently raise fish from juvenile to grower in a rearing environment similar to the customer's aquaculture facility, and we conduct quality monitoring tests of existing feed and new products. We are also working to develop aquaculture technologies to propose more economical feeding methods and high-density fish farming for our customers.

Fish disease diagnosis and component analysis

In fish disease diagnosis, we have established technologies for diagnosing diseases that cannot be determined by appearance alone, employing methods such as PCR and fish bioanalysis to identify diseases found onsite. In the area of ingredient analysis, we not only establish data to support feed development, but we also have a system in place to support our customers in analyzing and evaluating the fatty and umami characteristics of aquaculture-produced fish.
